John Thomas

John Thomas is one half of the duo behind JTPR, an Indianapolis-based public relations firm founded in 2006. With an emphasis on serving civic nonprofit organizations and the philanthropic community, John and his wife, Jen, help clients leverage strategic communications to raise money, attract customers, promote causes, strengthen teams and more.

With a background as an award-winning journalist and corporate communicator, John worked for one of the state’s largest PR firms as a writer, strategist and advisor before joining Jen in JTPR. Previously, he had served as director of internal communications for Emmis Communications and as a writer and editor with Indianapolis Monthly and the Indianapolis Business Journal.

A native Hoosier, John graduated from Indiana University with English and theater degrees and worked for a while in Washington, D.C., before returning to his home state.
