For more than 25 years, Bente Weitekamp has actively contributed to the nonprofit sector and shared her extensive knowledge in donor engagement, stewardship, and volunteer management in strategic and applicable ways for various sectors.
Bente’s successful career in fundraising and development includes specialization in higher education and public health. Before joining the JGA team, she led the Community Health Network Foundation as Vice President of Development, establishing a comprehensive and successful fundraising program. Additionally, her experience includes serving as Director of Development at Purdue University’s Departments of Biological Sciences and Statistics, and later, as Director of Advancement for the College of Science, where she managed donor stewardship and raised more than $15 million towards the University’s comprehensive campaign.
Bente has also contributed her time to other nonprofits, such as the Ball State University Foundation, Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, the Circle of Sisterhood Foundation, Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, Lafayette Urban Ministry, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
She is a graduate of Ball State University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning and Development. Additionally, she attained a Master of Arts in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
